Lance Levanthal, Independent Consultant

Dr. Lance A. Leventhal has been an independent consultant in the computer industry for over 25 years. He serves as Technology Editor for the Network Systems Design (NSD) Newsletter and Technical Editor for BladeLetter, the newsletter of the Blade Systems Alliance.

He is the author of 25 books (that have sold over 1,000,000 copies) and 80 technical articles. He has founded many conferences, including the ILM Summits, Network Systems Design Conference (formerly Network Processors Conference), Server Blade Summit, Gigabit Ethernet Conference, Storage Area Networks Conference, and Embedded Internet Conference. He currently serves as Program Chairperson for the ILM Summits and Server Blade Summit and Program Consultant for the Network Systems Design Conference. He is also a Series Editor in Programming and Software Development for Prentice-Hall. He has taught electrical engineering and computer science classes for National University, San Diego State University, Grossmont College, Southwestern College, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Florida Institute of Technology, National Computer Security Center, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and Evolving Technology Company.

He holds a BA in physics from Washington University (St. Louis, MO) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Physics and Information Science from University of California at San Diego.
