Don’t Blink! The ATCA Virtual Summit
byBrian WoodContinuous Computing, CP-TA Marketing Work Group Chair - Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM
In just a few short days there will be the second of two “virtual tradeshows” in the past two months pertaining to xTCA. [The most recent one was early May 2010 – Light Reading’s xTCA & COTS Virtual Event. I recommend that you register and view the archived webinar sessions of that event if you have not done so already; it’s free!]
This time around, on Thursday, June 24, the AdvancedTCA Virtual Summit is an “all-day” event co-sponsored by Conference Concepts (the folks who put on the AdvancedTCA Summit “physical tradeshow” in the Fall) and OpenSystems Publishing (the folks who produce CompactPCI & AdvancedTCA Systems, Embedded Computing Design, Military Embedded Systems, and others).
[By the way, when do you think OSP will formally change / shorten the name of what I consider their flagship publication, CompactPCI & AdvancedTCA Systems? Indeed, in grand American style the esteemed publication has “put on a few pounds” in its red-white-and-blue title and is now referring to itself as “CompactPCI AdvancedTCA & MicroTCA Systems”. Try typing that three times quickly…].
Anyhoo, the AdvancedTCA Virtual Summit – whose web page is, I believe, the unofficial winner of the “Most Cleverly Hidden Information Page on the World Wide Web” accolade as well as the “Absolute Shortest (Yet Still Misspelled) Event Description Ever” award – is sure to please those of us who live and breathe all things xTCA. To wit:
- Wireless Applications: 3G, 4G, WiMAX, LTE, and Backhaul
7 AM PDT / 10 AM EDT - System Integration and Interoperability
9 AM PDT / 12 PM EDT - Network Acceleration – Role of Multicore in Next-Generation Networks
11 AM PDT / 2 PM EDT - 40/100 Gbps Applications: Faster, Ever Faster
1 PM PDT / 4 PM EDT - Future of xTCA Executive Roundtable
3 PM PDT / 6 PM EDT
Companies participating in the AdvancedTCA Virtual Summit are, apparently,
TOP SECRET, but my clever sources tell me that the following CP-TA members will be presenting:
- Continuous Computing
- Emerson Network Power
- Kontron
- RadiSys
- Advantech
And possibly others.
[My apologies to those of you in the “And possibly others” category – my sources are only so good at infiltrating the opaque-and-nearly-impenetrable “no-information-available” shroud surrounding the AdvancedTCA Virtual Summit. Drop me a line if your company should be added to the list of CP-TA members participating. Thanks.]
Please
REGISTER HERE for the AdvancedTCA Virtual Summit – and tune in on Thursday to hear the latest-and-greatest about your favorite xTCA-related topics!
